IoT Consumer Device Database Project (Enhancement)

We enhanced an existing searchable IoT consumer device database that serves as a repository of information about consumer IoT devices, their vulnerabilities, the data they collect, the location of the stored data, the third parties that receive and access this data, and information about the ways this data can be legally accessed by criminal justice agents. We developed an accompanying mobile app, chatbot, and mock IoT crime scenarios.

Funding for this project has been provided by the U.S. Bureau of Justice Assistance (15PBJA-24-GK-02396-INTE). The project ended on March 31, 2026.

Users can access the IoT database by creating an account on the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) website: NW3C Registration Page. Once the account is approved, users can log in and navigate to the resources page. There, they will find the CCYBERS logo displayed alongside logos from other agencies. Clicking on the CCYBERS logo will grant access to the database.
