On October 15 and 16, 2024, the Center for Cybercrime Studies and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) convened a multisectoral and interdisciplinary Expert Group Meeting (EGM) to Discuss Opportunities for Operationalising AI and New Technologies in the Criminal Justice Sector. Over the course of this two-day conference, academics, practitioners, international organization and private sector professionals exchanged information about the scope, scale, and type of new and advanced technologies adopted for use in crime and criminal justice. We would like to thank all those from organizations such as UNODC, the World Bank, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, DeMarco Law, AINA TECH, x-Volante, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice for attending the EGM and offering evidence-based technical guidance on the use of AI in the administration of justice.
