Avinash Jairam

Database Developer and Machine Learning Specialist

Avinash Jairam is a computer scientist and machine learning engineer with deep expertise in full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, and applied artificial intelligence. He currently leads the design and development of both software systems and AI solutions at the Center for Cybercrime Studies at John Jay College, where he builds tools that support digital forensic research and criminal justice investigations.

Avinash is also a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the CUNY Graduate Center, with research focused on behavioral biometrics, mobile sensor data, and real-time authentication systems. He has extensive experience across the machine learning lifecycle—from data engineering and model development to deployment of scalable ML applications in production environments (AWS, Docker, Flask).

A committed educator, Avinash also teaches programming and data mining at Baruch College, where he helps students bridge theory and practice through hands-on projects. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he is the recipient of the Outstanding Article of 2022 award from Frontiers in Computer Science.
